Lydia Lavinia Davis

Lydia Lavinia Davis, 79, of Columbus passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at her home church, Gospel Lighthouse, 600 Frebis Ave, Columbus, OH 43206, Phone: (614) 449-8722.

Lydia Lavinia Davis was born in Wilmington, Ohio to Madeline (Peele) and Arthur Medley on April 1, 1940.  While Lydia Lavinia Davis was a dedicated, loving wife and mother of four lovely girls she spent much of her life as the primary care giver for her husband.  Lydia Lavinia Davis dabbled in many career fields, but found her life's work and love caring for children. She was a committed member of her church, Gospel Lighthouse serving the church faithfully for many years.

Lydia Lavinia Davis is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur  and, Madeline Medley, sisters Kathleen Medley, Linda Jones, and Jennie McMillan, brothers, Willard Medley, Virgil Medley and James Medley.

Lydia Lavinia Davis is survived by her husband, Don Davis of Columbus, daughters Mary (Louis) Betances of Milton, Florida, Letha Curtis of Columbus, Marsha (Raymond) Harrington of Columbus and Dawn Davis (Will Peppers) of Columbus. Her sister Mary Ellen Cordell, brothers,  Arthur (Ethel) Medley, Cecil (Neomia), George (Linda) Medley.  Her grandchildren, David Curtis (Louisville KY), Brian Curtis (Columbus), Melissa Curtis (Columbus) Garvin Curtis, (Columbus), Charlie Calaway (Columbus), Jonathan Cordova (USAF stationed in San Antonio, TX),  Jessica Beard (Milton, FL) and Lydia Curtis (Columbus).  She has two great-grandchildren, Salio Barry (Columbus) and Jodi Malia Richardson (Milton, FL), a host of nieces, nephews and a large spiritual family.

Flowers may be sent to Gospel Lighthouse church in Columbus. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gospel Lighthouse for the warm and open arms during their time of mourning.
