Donna Louise Sharpe

Donna Louise Sharp, age 89, passed away June 6, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Donna was born in the Columbus area to the late Harold and Helen Marburger on September 25, 1933. 

Along with spending time with family/friends Donna’s three favorite pastimes were her love of sports, cards, and music.  She was a huge fan of  The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds.  She played and coached softball for many years and even found time to bowl on various leagues. 

Her love of playing cards, euchre being one of her favorites, had her  playing/hosting in several euchre clubs at one time.  There wasn’t a gathering where she wouldn’t try to put a game together—up till the very end her desire to play never lessened. 

Her fondness for music was fostered at a young age when she started playing the violin.  She continued to play well into adulthood where she found herself a chair in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. She loved music.  She sang in her church choir for many years and found joy playing the piano in her free time. 

Donna’s sense of humor and kindness will never be forgotten. She was the loving mother of five children and thirty-four grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her two brothers, Verlin and Edwin Marburger, sister, Bettie Jo Herring, and great grandson, Thomas Sharp. Donna is survived by: her son, Robert (Melissa) Sharp, daughter, Sheri (George) Hall, son, David (Helen) Sharp, daughter, Barbara (Douglas) Partlow, daughter, Jeanne (Mark) Mossburg—as well as 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces/nephews/cousins. 

Donna is a longtime member of Gender Road Christian Church located at 5336 Gender Road Canal Winchester OH 43110, where her memorial service will be held on June 24, 2023 at 11am.
