George William Leonard

George W. Leonard, 79, of Columbus, Ohio passed away August 3, 2023 at Kobacker House. He had his own painting company from the early 80's until he retired (George Leonard Painting Company).

He enjoyed hunting and fishing before he was diagnosed with fourth stage cancer.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Sayre Leonard; children Natalie Jane Leonard, Nathan Josef Leonard (1st twins born at JGH Hospital in 1965), and Nancy Jazell Leonard. Grandchildren Natosha Shase Leonard and Breana Jane Hammond; Great Grandchildren Kyla Jazell Simpson, Halah Yevette Wynkoop, Briella Jane Wynkoop - friend Evan Wynkoop all of Columbus; sisters Dorthy Dellinger, of Florida, Jean Leport, of West Virginia, Patricia Knopp, Virginia, Wilma Wilson, Peggy Foreman, Barbara McKean, formerly of Gallipolis all of Ohio; brothers Steven Leonard, Phillip Leonard both of Ohio.

Preceded in death by sister Ella Marie "sissy" Leonard Ashley; friend Dora Able; brothers Charles (Bud) Leonard, Joseph Leonard, Richard Leonard, Thomas Leonard.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday August 10, 2023 at Longview Cemetery in  Evans, West Virginia with Charles Bowles officiating.
