Herbert L. Murray

Herbert L. Murray, age 74, of Columbus OH passed away too soon on August 13, 2020. Herb was born on November 14, 1945 in Dennison, OH to the late Charles Edward and Arlean (Gilford) Murray. He graduated Dennison St. Mary's high school and continued his education in college at Xavier in Cincinnati, OH where he played football. He worked as a carpet and upholstery cleaner for many years. He was interested in activities such as fishing and watching sports especially Cleveland Browns football, Cleveland Indians baseball and an undercover Ohio State fan.  He loved working and showcasing his many talents.  He was also known for his love of talking with his family and friends on the phone and  talking with everybody he met.

Left to cherish  his memory are his loving wife Patricia, his 3 daughters Nia (Rick) Henderson of Gahanna OH, Carla Murray and Erica (Zelvin) Ballantine of Columbus OH. Along with 4 stepdaughters Lisa, Teresa, Melissa, Jessica of Columbus OH. Sisters Shirley(John)Carter of Pickerington OH, Gloria Moss of Las Vegas NV, Elva(Wilson)Taylor of Bossier LA, brother Ambrose(Roxanne)Murray of Las Vegas NV.  Grandchildren and great grandchildren and of host of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him tremendously.

Herb is preceded in death by his  father Charles Edward Murray, mother Arlean Murray-Martin, brothers Charles "Chink" Murray, Edward Leroy Murray and sister Myrtle Densley.

The family is inviting friends and family to celebrate memories of Herb during visitation at Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Av., on Wednesday August 19, 2020 from the hours of 12 noon to 2 PM.
