Nina Faye Johnson

Mother Nina Faye Johnson, 81 years old, made her peaceful transition to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Forest Hills Center, Columbus Ohio with her loving daughter Deborah by her side.

Daughter of the late Elder Walter J. Chandler and Mary L. Chandler was born in Bells, Tennessee on April 4, 1940. She accepted Christ at an early age and she was one of 16 children.  After graduating from Central High School in Alamo, Tennessee, Nina relocated to Toledo Ohio, where she met Thomas Miller Johnson and married September 26, 1964.  Born to this union were Deborah L. Via (David) and Lori A. Johnson – Mitchell (John).

Nina attended Stautzenberger College, Toledo, Ohio where she studied Accounting.  She retired from Swan Creek Retirement Village in 2009 after which she moved to Columbus, Ohio to live with Lori after which she joined “THE WORD CHURCH” of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor, E.T. Parker, III.

She enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, picking greens, cooking, and especially making dressing and peach cobbler and later spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid OSU buckeye fan. She loved attending church and going to Senior day at Faith Ministries. She was a member of the National Holy Convocation Choir for a number of years starting in Memphis Tennessee and the last in St Louis Missouri. She was a member of Zion Church of God in Christ, Toledo Ohio under the leadership of Bishop Edward Cook, where she served on the usher board and sang in the choir.

Nina F. Johnson was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas M. Johnson, her parents Walter and Mary Chandler, Son-N-Law David O. Via, 14 brothers and sisters. One great-granddaughter Ariana I. Via.

Robinson (Dionna); 8 great-Grandchildren Sarai J. Gaskins, D’Vontay R. Robinson Jr., Camryn L. Via, Ra’Layia J. Barnes, Nyla A. Robinson, Levi A. Via, Luna D. Via, and Sariyah R. Robinson. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
