Robert M. Mackey

Our dear loved one, Robert Milton “Booney” Mackey was born Friday January 26, 1962 and departed this earth Friday, September 15, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard J. Mackey and Selena B. Mackey; Sister Harriett Ann Williams and Brother James “Ricky” Mackey.

He leaves to cherish his memory are siblings Regina Jones, Virginia Hairston (Spartanburg, SC), Thomas Mackey, Carolyn (Sidney) Williams, Mary Mackey, Richard C. Mackey and Mildred White; Aunt Medora McBeth (Enoree, SC) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and other family members.

Booney was born in Columbus, Ohio. He was the youngest of ten children and was the baby of the family. He attended Columbus Public Schools. He was a painter by trade, being taught by one of the best “J.D”.

Booney loved his family very much. He was well-known in the community for helping neighbors with whatever they needed. He was a good-hearted person. He was witty, had a great sense of humor and was level-headed. He loved life and was full of life.

We are blessed to have had him in our lives and be a part of our family. We will always love him and remember him. It is a great loss to our family and everyone who knew him. He cannot be replaced.

He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. God loved him the most and God knows what is best and he makes no mistakes.
