Theresa Louise (Nieves) Cox

Theresa Louise (Nieves) Cox, born on September 10th, 1964, in Bronx, NY, lived a remarkable life. Theresa was a force to be reckoned with despite her petite frame, always carrying a deep sense of pride in her Italian heritage. Her passion for cooking Italian cuisine was a lifelong devotion, and she delighted in passing down her culinary skills to her children who wanted to learn. 

Having embarked on various adventures throughout her life, Theresa resided in different parts of the country, including Las Vegas, Nevada, North Dakota, and Ohio, where she spent the last several years. Her talents extended beyond the kitchen, as she possessed a remarkable aptitude for mathematics and possessed a fondness for, and uncanny luck with, the game of BINGO! 

Above all else, Theresa embraced her role as a mother and grandmother, striving daily to fulfill the needs of all her children and grandchildren the best she could. Many times, Theresa was known to drop everything she was doing, to help her children when they needed her the most. Her unwavering love and devotion for others left an indelible impact on many lives around her. 

On July 2nd, Theresa experienced a cardiac arrest, and on July 10, 2023, at the age of 58, she passed away. True to her compassionate nature, Theresa had chosen to be an organ donor through donatelife.ohio.gov. Her selfless decision will enable others to continue living, and her name will be forever engraved on the Donate Life Wall in Columbus, Ohio. 

Theresa is survived by her brother and his wife, Tony, and Jeana Nieves, as well as her five children: Anthony, William, Ashley, Pamala, and Andrew. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, Theresa was cremated, and her ashes will be privately scattered at a later date. May she finally rest in eternal peace.
